The Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS) community is mourning the passing of Pierre Rapinett, a valued colleague whose dedication, kindness, and commitment left a lasting impression on those who had the privilege of working alongside him.

Pierre had been an important member of the ITS community since 2011, serving as a Food Handler within the Food Stores. Over more than a decade of service, he became a familiar and respected presence at the Institute, known for his strong work ethic and dependable nature.

Throughout his years at ITS, Pierre approached his responsibilities with dedication and passion. He was remembered as someone who took pride in his work and could be relied upon to give his best. His commitment was reflected in his daily routine, as he was often among the first people to arrive at the Institute each morning.

For his colleagues, Pierre was more than simply a coworker. He was someone whose presence contributed to the atmosphere and community of the Institute. His kindness, respect, and willingness to carry out his responsibilities earned him the appreciation of those around him.

Students and staff also valued the warmth and respect Pierre showed to everyone he encountered. Over the years, the relationships he built became an important part of his legacy, and his absence will undoubtedly be felt throughout the ITS community.

The loss of a longtime colleague can be particularly difficult because their presence becomes woven into everyday life. Familiar routines, conversations, greetings, and shared moments can suddenly become treasured memories following a person’s passing.

For those who worked with Pierre, memories of his dedication and personality will remain. His years of service represent a meaningful contribution to the Institute, while the respect and affection he earned from colleagues and students reflect the kind of person he was.

As the ITS community mourns, the thoughts of staff, students, management, and the Board of Governors are with Pierre’s family and loved ones. Losing someone dear is never easy, and the support of friends, colleagues, and the wider community can provide comfort during such a painful time.

Pierre’s legacy will live on through the people he worked with, the students he encountered, and the many years of service he devoted to the Institute of Tourism Studies. His dedication and kindness will remain part of the memories shared by those who knew him.

The Institute has lost a valued member of its community, but Pierre will not be forgotten. His contribution, hardworking spirit, and respectful nature will continue to be remembered with gratitude.

Our deepest condolences go to Pierre Rapinett’s family, friends, colleagues, students, and everyone who knew and loved him.

May Pierre rest peacefully, and may his family and loved ones find strength and comfort during this difficult time. His memory will remain cherished within the Institute of Tourism Studies community.
